Over the past month, we have worked together to ensure the City of Calgary's Affordable Housing Strategy is passed because we heard from you that this is one of the most important issues facing our communities. 

 

 

On Saturday, September 16th, this strategy was passed. This will begin the process of freeing land and money to build 3,000 more non-market affordable housing each year. It will enable the housing market to build more affordable housing through zoning changes, and the city will use its resources to create more temporary housing to meet the immediate needs of families with no homes and much more.  

 

Thank you to each of our members who wrote their city councillors, came to our rally and spoke before the city council. Together, our work will impact the lives of thousands of Calgarians struggling to afford a home.
