Council committee puts Calgary's growth under the microscope, but decisions still to come

The city's growth plans were being reviewed at council in October. Members of our Alliance showed up - speaking at the public committee and highlighting the massive subsidies being given toward approving more sprawl on Calgary's fringes.

A council committee scrutinized bids to build new homes on Calgary’s far-flung edges Monday, but city council won’t make a final decision until next month.

Several speakers representing the collective Calgary Alliance for the Common Good also spoke against the approvals, saying council can’t possibly justify cuts to services during November’s budget process if they grant these developments.
