COVID-19 Response

As an Alliance representing 30 faith-based, ethnic, union and educational organizations, CACG is deeply concerned by the prevailing situation regarding COVID-19 outbreak. This infection has affected every aspect of our lives, most notably the economic, social and psychological wellbeing of our communities. The overriding issue of fear of contagion or fear of being infected with the virus can be stressful and traumatic. We are continuing to listen and respond to the needs in our community. COVID-19 & Mental Health - Turn the Tide In One Generation

As we listen to our communities, we are hearing about the growing mental health issues that children and their families are facing.  Schools are critical for responding to this need.  Please join us in writing, emailing or calling your MLA to support our campaign to Turn the Tide in One Generation on mental health. COVID-19 Strengthening Our Communities - Volunteering

Neighbourhood Teams and Community Helpers - At this critical time it is important that we look after each other, especially those who are most vulnerable in our community. Don't know where to begin?  - We can help!  Consider volunteering as a Block Captain or as a Community Helper and make a lasting difference. Our volunteer sign-up page is found here. Our Training resources can be found here.

We Build Leaders

“I went to the training and discovered practical ways that I can build relationships and take action to bring about change in our city.”

Learn About Leadership Training

The Calgary Alliance for the Common Good is everyday people taking powerful action together for the common good.

We develop the diverse voices of our community, building relationships across religious, racial, class, and neighborhood lines.

Then we knit them together one by one to build the power to make the positive changes they want to see in our community, making our shared home a better place to live and thrive.

COVID19 Volunteers Needed

How do we live out the best values of our traditions at this time?

How do we bring love, compassion, solidarity, Tikun Olam, and justice into our communities?

We are asking our members to consider taking one of three actions:

1. Join your organizations’ core team as they look after people within your institution.

2. Become a block captain and work with your neighbour to build a neighbourhood solidarity team where neighbours look after each other.

3. Become a community helper – and offer up your time and skills to volunteer where it is most needed.
