Premier's Breakfast July 8

Come eat Pancakes for a Purpose to let Calgary's MLA's know we need their help to Keep the Green Line on Track!

Notes:

-Meet at the SE corner of 5th Avenue and 6th Street SW by the Tim Hortons between 7am-8am. Earlier is better so we can ensure we get through the line and can chat with the MLAs and premier.

-Check in with the action captain who will be wearing a green scarf. Your RSVP confirmation email will provide a phone contact for day of questions or if you can't find us. We will review talking points and instructions for the action.

-This is a "blend in" type of action- no unifying Green Scarves or buttons, we are showing up in our western wear as we would to any Stampede Breakfast to "casually" bring up our concern about the province threatening the Green Line funding.

-Key talking points (will also be emailed to you). An expanded version can be printed off here as well.

  • The Green Line needs to get built now, further delays will only increase the costs
  • The Green Line needs to get built to Eau Claire Station- this is key to ensuring it can eventually get built to go across the river
  • The need is in the North- North Calgary is the area that already has ridership to make the Green Line financially self-sustaining, so we really need a northern line next
    • Phase 1 has already been committed to, from Shepherd to Eau Claire. We want to ensure the next phase really can service North Calgary.
