Community organizing equips people and institutions with practical tools to build relationships, develop leaders, understand power, and take collective action on the issues that matter most to their communities.

Join leaders from diverse organizations and institutions to:

• Explore how community organizing has helped faith communities, labour unions, community associations, and other institutions become stronger and more effective.
• Develop a team of leaders and emerging leaders within your own organization or community.

• Analyze relationships and power in your organization, workplace, or community—and learn how to use that understanding to make change happen.
• Practise effective one-on-one relational meetings and discover how intentional listening and relationship-building can open new possibilities.
• Learn how the organizing cycle can move a community from shared concerns to strategic collective action.
• Identify and develop new leaders who can bring energy, ideas, and momentum to your organization.
• Create a practical strategy for recruiting leaders and building a strong organizing team.
• Understand how the Alliance and its current strategy can help member institutions act on the issues their communities care about.

This workshop builds on skills introduced in the Foundations of Community Organizing training, but no previous community-organizing experience is required.
