This Crisis Intervention webinar aims to improve the outcomes of individuals who want to better manage crisis and conflict while reducing the likelihood of physical aggression and violence using de-escalating interpersonal strategies and techniques. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of escalating behaviour, how to respond appropriately during episodes of crisis, and how to protect everyone involved from risks of injury.
John Wang is a Psychologist-in-training who is completing his last year of study specializing in School and Child Psychology. Currently, he is the Learning Support Specialist and Mental Health Counsellor at The Immigrant Education Society, where he provides academic, behavioural, and social-emotional interventions to enhance the students' quality of Life. As a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor with the Mental Health Commission of Canada, John is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience in mental health and to help reduce stigmatization of mental health disorders amongst marginalized populations.
