Come eat Pancakes for a Purpose to let Calgary's MLA's know we need their help to Keep the Green Line on Track!
Notes:
-We will meet at the SE corner of 5th Street and 6th Ave SW by the Tim Hortons between 7-8am. Check in with the action captain wearing a green scarf to get instructions and review talking points. Earlier (closer to 7am) is better to ensure we get through the pancake line and talk with the MLA's at the beginning. A phone number for day-of questions will be provided in your RSVP confirmation email.
-This is a "blend in" type of action- no unifying Green Scarves or buttons, we are showing up in our western wear as we would to any Stampede Breakfast to "casually" bring up our concern about the province threatening the Green Line funding.
-Key talking points:
- The Green Line needs to get built now, further delays will only increase the costs
- The Green Line needs to get built to Eau Claire Station- this is key to ensuring it can eventually get built to go across the river
- The need is in the North- North Calgary is the area that already has ridership to make the Green Line financially self-sustaining, so we really need a northern line next
- Phase 1 has already been committed to, from Shepherd to Eau Claire. We want to ensure the next phase really can service North Calgary.
