Our seniors action team met with City of Calgary administrators on May 27, 2019, to get an update on how the seniors home supports program is advancing. We heard that they will be launching a small pilot in the summer to test out this new system. More communication about the program, and a binder for potential service providers, will be ready by the end of summer. They expect the full program to be ready to launch by snowfall. 

We were encouraged by the amount of work that is being done to make sure that this program is done right. It was also encouraging to hear that provincial government officials are continuing to work on our request to make the special needs assistance program available to more low-income seniors. Our team will meet with them again at the end of summer to ensure that this program continues to advance.
