There are multiple events and awareness efforts throughout the city -- both today and this week -- that you might be interested in.

  • At noon today, www.HonouringMotherEarth.com is hosting a live stream. It will be featuring Elder Pablo Russell, who will be speaking about resiliency through his work on the path of the buffalo.

  • St.  Mary's University is hosting a virtual celebration circle at 6:30 PM on June 22nd (email [email protected] to get the link to join).

  • Making Visible Our Shared History: June 24th, 6:00 PM. Join this workshop with speaker Dr. Crystal Fraser to explore the importance of renaming institutions as a step towards reconciliation. RSVP here.

  • Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary (AAWC) has a listing of events and engagements here. On June 26th from noon to 6 PM they will be hosting a live stream of activities and more.

  • There is also a Virtual Indigenous Family Storytime every day this week at 10:30 AM. Learn more about this event, and others with the Calgary Public Library, here.

  • The Government of Canada has a variety of resources available for review. They also released a tracker for events across the country, which is available here.

  • Tipi Harvest for Calgary Healing: As an Alliance, we are supporting the work of local organizers in the Indigenous community by hosting a crowdfunding campaign for tipis.
