Municipal Campaign 2025

Join us as we build relationships with candidates, learn where they stand on issues and get commitments from them to work with us on issues that matter to our communities. On this page, you will find information about our Mayoral Forum, learn about candidates from our ward campaings and find information on getting out the vote.

Get Out the Vote

Voting at the Municipal level of government matters. It is where democracy touches our lives on a daily basis. We have created a Get Out the Vote page with links to voter information and tools to encourage your organization/community to vote.

Mayoral Forum

You showed up! Around 600 people packed Knox United church - demonstrating the power that we have together.

The leading candidates for mayor were almost all there. Jeromy Farkas, Jyoti Gondek and Brian Thiessen showed up (Sonya Sharp cancelled at the last minute) to hear your voices, answer your questions and build a public relationship with us.

These candidates didn't just answer questions - they made commitments! They committed to working with us on the issues you identified.

They made commitments to:

Funding community-led mental health supports.

Ensure the city develops a good jobs strategy and limits contracting out.

Address affordable housing, especially the releasing of land for affordable housing and providing supports for renters.

Advancing the climate strategy and building more resilient infrastructure.

Advancing the Indigenous Gathering Place and developing an Indigenous Council.

Finally, and most critically, each of the candidates present made a commitment to meet with us and develop a plan to implement their commitments once elected.

This is the power of an organized community.

Ward Campaigns

It is important to become educated about who you are voting for. Over the summer and fall, our teams have been meeting with local ward candidates. Over the next week, we will share the results of these meetings with you, so you can be informed when casting your ballot. Which of the candidates took the time to meet with their constituents? Who will work to address affordable housing, mental health, good jobs, the environment and Truth and Reconciliation? See who met with our teams and their responses by clicking on the image for your ward below.
